Vella Dosai is a heritage dish from Tamilnadu, a sort of sweet dosa that is absolutely delicious. These are similar to pancakes, but sweetened with jaggery and a definite Indian touch to them.

Here, I have used Nutty Yogi's beautiful stone-ground multi-millet flour in place of the wheat and rice flour that is traditionally used. With Nutty Yogi's zero-additive jaggery and fragrant bilona ghee, these dosai are definitely a treat. 


Ingredients used (for 6-8 dosai):

  • 1 cup multi-millet flour
  • 3/4 cup jaggery or to taste
  • 1-1/4 cup water or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh grated coconut
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Ghee, as required to make the dosai
