This is an easy version of the classic dessert that you can make using ingredients and equipment easily available in most Indian cities. And, yes, it tastes super close to the authentic version.

  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 1 cup + 1 cup thick coconut milk 
  • 1 cup water 
  • A few pieces of fresh pandan leaves (can be substituted with kewra essence) 
  • 5 tablespoons of sugar or to taste
