Indian Lentil Pancake - Moong Daal Cheela 

 

Looking for a quick under ten minute recipe for a hot and steamy breakfast option! Tired of eating cold flakes in breakfast. Here is a low GI, gluten free, vegan and super healthy recipe.

 

Instructions

Take Nutty Yogi Moong Daal Cheela Mix and add butter milk (or water) to the same and make a smooth batter.

Keep this paste aside. Add veggies of your choice inside the batter.

Add salt if needed

 

To Make Paneer Stuffing for Cheela

  • Heat I tsp oil in pan, Add chopped onion, green chilli, and ginger. Saute till onion turn translucent and pink.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt to taste.
  • Mix well and now add crumbled paneer and saute for 2 minutes on medium heat.
  • Add dry pomegranate powder and coriander to finish. Keep this paneer stuffing aside and make cheela.

 

To Make Moong Dal Cheela

  • Heat a griddle or cast iron skillet on medium heat. Add about a teaspoon of ghee to it and swirl to coat all sides of the pan. If you are using a non stick pan few drops of oil are enough.
  • Pour a ladle full of batter onto the pan and with the help of a ladle spread the batter into a circular shape from the center outwards.
  • Cook for 2-3 minute till its underside is browned and flip it and cook till the other side is golden too. Serve them as it is with chutney and dahi. Add choice of raw veggies on the top to make it crunchier and healthier.
